My name is Israel Butler, and this is my second semester in the M.Ed. Technology program. I am a May 2011 graduate of USC Aiken with a Bachelors in Communications. During my college career, I was actively involved in student media by serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the college newspaper the Pacer Times for two years and being the marketing department's first student web videographer. I am currently a multimedia journalist at WRDW TV News 12 in Augusta, Georgia with my own segment that caters to a younger audience called "Voices & Vibes." As of right now, I am working the breaking news shift, so much of my work may be posted in the earlier hours of the morning. Aside from my professional and graduate studies, I am also a music video director and hip hop artist with a positive message in my music. The name of my two production lines are Kingdom Come Productions and Butler Boy Films. My director nicknames are King Israel and Butler Boy. I am in the process of producing more videos and completing my first solo project, and I intend to use much of the knowledge I acquired as an undergraduate as well as many of the valuable tools I now wear under my belt courtesy of the Educational Technology program. In the future, I hope to earn my doctoral degree in communications from the University of South Carolina, have established my multimedia and film production companies, set a trend in the changing field of the media, successfully raise my family (I have a daughter on the way), and become both a media and hip hop mogul. I also hope to walk in the footsteps of my mother to become an educator. First and foremost, I am a devout Christian who gives thanks to Godfor my accomplishments. I am married to my college sweetheart, and we are expecting a little girl in May of this year. I am an avid Houston Texans fan (I hope they make it to the Super Bowl) and the USC Gamecocks. I love hanging around my friends and family when I am taking a breather from accomplishing my goals. I also enjoy playing video games, writing and recording music, and traveling.
